Dr Rebecca Beirne is the author of the forthcoming Lesbians in Television and Text after the Millenium and the editor of Televising Queer Women (Palgrave Macmillan), and has published widely on queer representation on television. Her academic work has appeared in journals such as Refractory, Critical Studies in Television, Scope and Nebula. Forthcoming work will appear in the Journal of Lesbian Studies, LGBT America Today and Hard to Swallow: Reading Pornography on Screen. Her work has also appeared in the edited collection The New Queer Aesthetic on Television. Dr Beirne is a Lecturer in Film, Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Newcastle.
